In 1955, Clokey created a pilot featuring Gumby, which was immediately picked up by executives at NBC, who featured a Gumby short called Gumby on the Moon on the Howdy Doody show in 1956. Gumby became an instant hit, and in 1957, Gumby had his own show that ran through
