Sunflowers - Vincent Van Gogh Great Britain Lucky Cat Risograph print byThere is no single "original" Van Gogh sunflower painting, as he created a series of them between 1887 and 1889. The most famous versions are the vase still lifes painted in Arles, France, in 1888, which were intended to decorate a guest room for his friend Paul Gauguin. However, he also painted earlier versions in Paris in 1887 that show sunflowers lying on the ground.
