Antique Islamic Syrian Moorish Arabic Caligraphy Inlaid Chair Levantine 1890 Drawings & Prints Povey Brothers was known asA good antique Syrian Moorish inlaid chair with mashrabiya and Arabic calligraphy decoration, circa 1890. This very attractive antique Levantine chair has a curved back with a pair of turned ball finials and a central crest inlaid with bone, the back is elaboratley decorated with mashrabiya stick & ball cross carvings, and the central panel is inliad with Mother of Pearl. The seat has the original embroidered fabric with a central Arabesque cartouche.
