Guru envisioned bringing together a diverse mix of jazz talent, both old and new school, including Lonnie Liston Smith, Branford Marsalis, Ronny Jordan, Donald Byrd, and Roy Ayers, alongside vocalists such as Carleen Anderson, NDea Davenport (Brand New Heavies), and French rapper
