The building was constructed in 1976 according to plans by the architect couple Ralf Schler and Ursulina Schler Witte, who also designed the ICC. In 2011, various street artists, such as Flying Frtress, Sozyone, Honet and Craig "KR" Costello, painted the originally orange facade in trendy colors.
