While the ship in the 1972 film was identical to the ocean liner Queen Mary, in this 2006 remake the ship has the same hull as the QM2 but a different structure. The bow decks have a more tapered shape, the structure gradually decreasing from the wider promenade deck to the narrower lido deck. An interesting detail is the smoke,
