It allows 16 separate PWM signals to be controlled via a single IC interface. It can be used to drive servo motors, LEDs and other PWM controlled devices. The PCA9685 servo driver can be connected to a Raspberry Pi, via the I2C bus protocol. It allows the Raspberry Pi to generate the PWM signals and send them to the connected servo motors or other PWM controlled devices.
